Belfast is serviced by 3 airports.
The closest to the Conference centre is George Best City Airport Belfast. It is only 6 km away from the conference venue. The airport is currently serviced by Aer Lingus, British Airways, Eastern Airways, KLM, Loganair, Ryanair and Vueling Airlines. There are direct flights from major international hubs such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Paris, Reyjvaik. Visit the airport's website to find out which other cities are directly serviced.
A taxi ride from the City Airport to the Conference Centre and nearby conference hotels takes approx. 5 minutes.
The Airport Express 600 bus has departures every 30 minutes (Mon-Sat) or 45 minutes (Sun). The bus stop (Queens Square) is a 5 minutes' walk away from the Conference venue. For more information see this page.
Belfast International Airport is 30 km away from the conference centre and is serviced by several low cost airlines such as EasyJet, Jet2, Ryanair, Tui, Virin Atlantic and Wizz.
A taxi to the Conference venue will take about 40 minutes. The Airport Express 300 / 300A bus to the city centre has daily departures every 15-12 minutes during weekdays and every 20-30 minutes during the weekend. The ride will take a minimum of 40 minutes and has several stops. For a time table, visit the Translink website and type the bus number or destination in the search function.
Dublin International Airport is located 90 minutes away and serviced with a direct, luxury coach service every hour to Belfast. A single way costs €10 (price level June 2021). Visas
Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Delegates who need a visa should apply directly to the UK embassy or consulate in their own country. Please note that the organisers cannot assist with the application. The Registration Office can issue a Letter of Invitation, provided that you have registered and paid for the Conference. After you have registered and paid, please send a request to the Registration Office by email to registration@parthen.nl, stating your full name, institute details (name, city), email, date of birth, place of birth, passport number and expiration date of the passport. The Letter of Invitation will be emailed to you within 5 working days. Please note that this letter of invitation does not imply any financial responsibility for ESCCA and/or the organisers.
Please make sure to allow ample time for your visa application and that you submit all the requested information to the embassy. Abstract presenters should do so immediately after receipt of the notification of acceptance.
In case your visa application is rejected, you can ask for a reimbursement of the registration fee until maximum 14 days before the start of the Conference. Proof of the rejection needs to be sent together with your request to registration@parthen.nl. The paid amount minus administration costs of 100 euro will be reimbursed, subject to approval by ESCCA.
